Youth Arrested For Alleged Abduction, Killing Of Cousin
A young man has been apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command in connection with the alleged abduction and murder of his eight-year-old cousin.
On July 27, 2024, authorities detained 22-year-old Muhammed Mustapha from Madina, Mubi North Local Government Area, following allegations that he kidnapped and killed his younger cousin, Muhammed Auwal.
The police report reveals that the abduction occurred on July 25, 2024, in the Madina Ward of Mubi North. Mustapha reportedly held Auwal captive, demanding a ransom of ₦2.8 million. He then reportedly drugged and strangled the boy.
Detectives from the State Intelligence Department arrested Mustapha after receiving a report from Harris Muhammed, Auwal’s father and Mustapha’s uncle. The suspect has reportedly confessed to the crime, attributing his actions to the effects of the intoxicating substance he consumed.
