Two More Roads To Be Commissioned In Umuahia South L.G.A – Gov. Ikpeazu

 

The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has assured that two more roads will be ready for commissioning in Umuahia South L.G.A before the end of this year.

Governor Ikpeazu who was inspecting the ongoing reconstruction and dualization of the Aba road-Old Umuahia axis of the road reconstructed with rigid pavement technology thanked the contractor for the quality of job done so far on the road.

The Governor assured that the reconstruction and dualization of the road will get to the Ubakala Express junction before commissioning, adding the rigid pavement technology will ensure that the road lasts up to thirty years.

The state Chief executive said that appointment of Mr Chris Ezem, a son of Umuahia South as the SSG speaks volume of the level of alliance his government has with the people of Umuahia South.

Earlier, while welcoming the Governor to the area, the SSG Mr Chris Ezem and the T. C  Chairman Umuahia South L.G.A, Dr Ndukwe Adindu thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his special love for their people, adding that the Governor has through the project exhibited high level of managerial skills.

In their speeches, the woman leade, Old Umuahia women, Lady Elizabeth Omelogu and the Youth Leader, Comrade Lambert Onuoha described the rigid pavement technology as the first in the history of the Local government area, adding that the road has given them unhindered access to the Enugu-portharcourt Express road and other communities in the state.

The Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi kalu, Elder statesmen Chief Tony Ukasanya, Pastor Emeka Enyema among others were present during the inspection exercise.
