Profile Of Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu (OCHAKE) (M.Sc, CFPM, CFE)

Chief Ugochukwu Collins Iheonunekwu popularly known as OCHAKE was born at Egbelu-Ihie in Ihie Autonomous Community, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State. His parents, Sir Sylvanus Ihenwokeleme & Deaconess Rose Peace Iheonunekwu were outstanding and renowned teachers who retired at the topmost level of their distinguishing careers as public servants.

EDUCATION

He attended the famous Ihie High School, Ihie and later moved to National High School, Aba, where he obtained his Senior School Certificate in 1995. Chief Iheonunekwu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in  Estate Management Department from Abia State University, Uturu, 1997 Class, two Masters of Science degrees (M.Sc) in Developmental Studies from the prestigious Nigeria Defence Academy- NDA, Kaduna in 2012 and M.Sc in Environmental Studies from ESUTH Business School, Enugu in 2016.

CAREER

As a patriotic young Nigerian, young Collins gladly enlisted for the National Youths Service Corps Scheme on graduation and was deployed to Federal Ministry of Environment, Osogbo, Osun State in 2004. On a successful completion of the NYSC Scheme in 2005, Young Collins offered himself for public service and was promptly employed as a Cadet Officer with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission- EFCC in 2006 and has risen through the ranks.

A dedicated law enforcement professional with over 16 years of experience in public service capacities as an Anti-Money Laundery Investigator specialist. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner by the world largest Anti-Fraud Organisation and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education- Austin Texas, USA.

While with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Chief Collins has attended several national and international courses/workshops and seminars on Negotiation for Conflict and Dispute Resolution organized at the United Nation Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Basic Fraud and Crime Investigations Training- EFCC, Data Base Management (Microsoft Access)-EFCC, Detection and Investigation of Tax Fraud- EFCC, Forensic Analysis Course-EFCC, Procurement Management for Investigators- EFCC, Psychological Operations Course- Defense Intelligence College, Abuja, Nigeria Security Investigation and Interrogation Course- Defense Intelligence College Abuja, Nigeria Mediation and Conflict Resolution from the prestigious ESSEC Business School, France National Intelligence Analysis Training – NIAT, Manchester Police, London Financial Investigation and Forensic Examination- COURSERA.

– Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria- (CFPM).

Beyond his professional calling, Chief Iheonunekwu has an abiding interest in politics which dates back to his university days at Uturu where he was elected member of the Student Representative Council – SRC and served in several student union government committees. Chief Collins Iheonunekwu is currently in politics to seek broader platform to cascade his service to the society for greater impact. He strongly believe that politics should not be a vocation for vulgar materialism or self aggrandizement.

As a natural philanthropist, based on his humble beginnings and his Christian faith, he is unconditionally committed to alleviating the plights of the less privileged in society as a basis for economic emancipation and social justice. In fulfillment of this, SB is devoted to catering for the needs of the poor and less privileged in society, he has contributed his quota immensely in community service and the emancipation and empowerment of the down trodden especially in his country home Ihie.

OCHAKE has at one time or the other awarded  scholarships to indigent students of Ihie community into the Nigerian tertiary institutions. So far, more than ten (10) students have benefited from his kind-hearted gesture. He has been a rallying point for succor for many community widows and the less privileged.

Super holds the tittle of Miri Oma Na-Ezoro Oha 1 of Ihie in appreciation of his enormous contributions to the development of Ihie community, which has been described as unprecedented and remain instrumental to so many developmental projects in the community. He was honored by the Council of Traditional Rulers in Abia State led by His Eminence, Eze Dr. Joseph Nwabeke as UGOBUZUO 1 OCHAKE of Abia State. He is married to Mrs. Amarachi Iheonunekwu and the union is blessed with three wonderful boys.
