Osimhen Downplays Rivalry With Galatasaray Teammates Icardi, Batshuayi, Others
Victor Osimhen has dismissed any notion of rivalry with fellow Galatasaray forwards.
Osimhen, who joined the Turkish Super Lig champions on loan from Napoli two weeks ago, is set to compete for a starting position alongside Mauro Icardi, Michy Batshuayi, and Burak Yilmaz.
“I was aware that Galatasaray was an excellent team before my arrival. I aim to contribute positively. There is no competition between us strikers,” he shared with the club’s official website.
“Icardi is a football icon, and Batshuayi is also a significant and lethal striker. I have much to learn from both. I anticipate working together effectively with them.”
Osimhen made an impactful debut by providing an assist in Galatasaray’s 5-0 win over Caykur Rizespor on Saturday.
Reflecting on the emphatic victory at RAMS PARK, Osimhen expressed his satisfaction with his new surroundings.
“I’m thrilled to be here. This is my first time in this city, and meeting the fans was a wonderful experience.
“The match was crucial, and winning by such a margin in the first game is very encouraging. I’m enjoying my time here and hope to continue this way, striving for victories in every match,” he added.
