Idris Okuneye, the Nigerian crossdresser better known as Bobrisky, has been released from incarceration.

Earlier, on April 5, 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured a conviction against him for mutilating the Naira currency.

Okuneye faced charges related to currency abuse and admitted guilt in front of Justice A.O. Awogboro at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Bobrisky was freed on Monday, August 5, 2024. A video surfaced showing him celebrating with friends, enjoying Mohbad’s and Chike’s song “Egwu.”

His friends were heard cheering, “We’re out of prison. Congratulations, Bobrisky.”
