Gov Otti Condole With Bishop Ibeabuchi Over The Loss Of His Mother-in-Law, Mrs Edith Nwaogu
ABIA – Governor Alex Otti has extended his condolences to the Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, following the passing of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Edith Nkechinyere Nwaogu.
In his condolence message during the funeral service held at St. Stephens Anglican Church, Umuobasi Amavor, Governor Otti honored the memory of Mrs. Nwaogu, describing her as an accomplished woman.
The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba acknowledged the deep pain of losing a loved one, especially a mother, and encouraged the grieving family, Rt. Rev. Dr. Ibeabuchi, and all affected to find solace in the treasured memories they hold of her.
In a homily, Venerable Precious Okereke emphasized the importance of living righteously and relying on the unwavering love of Christ to navigate the challenges of today’s difficult economic times.
In their heartfelt tributes, the first son of the deceased, Mr. Obioma Nwaogu, the second daughter and wife of the Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Dr. Mrs. Ogechi Geo-Ibeabuchi, described their late mother as a devout, loving, and virtuous woman. They prayed for her soul to rest in peace.
In a vote of thanks, the Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, described his late mother-in-law as a notable community leader and a devout Christian who raised her children in the fear of God and contributed significantly to the growth of the church.
Bishop Ibeabuchi expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti, the clergy, the church, and all who stood by them during their time of sorrow.
Mrs. Edith Nkechinyere Nwaogu, who passed away at the age of 82, is survived by her children, grandchildren, and numerous relatives.
The funeral was attended by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Navy Commodore MacDonald Ubah (Rtd.), top government officials, clergy members, and industry leaders.
The service featured prayers for the Nwaogu family and condolence messages, among other tributes.
