Former Anambra Governor Mbadinuju Laid To Rest
The remains of a former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, have been laid to rest at his country home, Ndikpa Village, Uli, in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.
Dr Mbadinuju died on April 11, 2023. His funeral rites commenced with a formal lying-in-state ceremony at the Anambra State Government House, Awka, and afterward, a commendation service where many sons and daughters of Anambra State paid tribute to the late former governor at the International Convention Centre, Awka.
In his speech at the funeral on Friday, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, said the late former Anambra leader left numerous legacy projects scattered across the state.
He recalled what security was at his time and how he did his best to reclaim the state from the criminal elements.
Professor Chukwuma Soludo, amongst other former governors, distinguished guests, and the people of Anambra State joined in the interdenominational service held to pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.
The late Mbadinuju governed Anambra from 1999 to 2003 on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He is remembered for introducing the Monday Morning Prayers in Anambra State and as well as his slogan, ‘It Shall be well with Anambra State.’
