The wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti has urged graduands of indigent AGYW skills acquisition training to use the knowledge gained to create wealth.
Mrs. Otti who gave the charge at Evermore Event centre, Umuahia South Local Government Area, during the graduation ceremony organized by the Society for Family health, assured that her office will support and enhance the well being of youths especially the girl child.
The wife of the governor disclosed that she will begin empowerment programmes next year, adding that the vision of skills acquisition programme of society for family health resonates the present government’s agenda of empowering youths.
She commended the National directorate of employment and Society for Family health in the state for partnering to uplift the welfare of the less privileged in society.
In her remarks, the Project Coordinator of Overview Society For Family Health, Mrs. Aisha Adegbe said the organization is committed to interventions that impact positively the lives of the vulnerable in society and thanked the state government for supporting them.
In her speech, the state Director General, State Controller of HIV and AIDS, Dr Mrs. Uloaku Ukaegbu, said Governor Alex Otti is a pragmatic leader that has given hope to the hopeless and also given support towards reducing the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the state.
