Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has felicitated the Anglican Bishop of Ukwa Diocese, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Manasses Okere on the occasion of his 50th birthday and book launch.

Speaking during a Eucharistic service held in honour of the celebrant and Bishop of Ukwa Diocese, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Manasses Okere at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Akwete Ndoki in Ukwa East LGA, Governor Otti identified thanksgiving as a panacea to unlock multiple blessings.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba described the celebrant as an astute theologian, composed preacher and focused charismatic administrator with focused vision and passion for the work of God as well as one that believes that the bible as the revealed will of God, remains the basic rule for a good life.

The state Chief Executive while noting that what is happening in Abia today is a reflection of his determination and commitment to changing the negative narratives, congratulated the celebrant and his family and prayed God to continue to bless him with longevity.

In a homily titled, “Come onto me, all ye that labour”, the Dean, Church of Nigeria/Archbishop of Niger Delta Province and Bishop of Ikwerre Diocese, The Most Rev. Blessing Enyindah, while stressing the need for all to rely solely on God for solutions to challenges in life, disclosed that true meaning and fulfilment in life comes only through Christ.

In his thanksgiving speech, the celebrant and Bishop of Ukwa, His Lordship, Rt Rev. Manasses Okere explained that his life is a testament of God’s amazing grace, mercies and faithfulness which is beyond human comprehension, adding that the past fifty years of his life has been impactful and characterized with inestimable testimony of God’s awesomeness and blessings.

Bishop Okere appreciated his family, the church, Governor Alex Otti and all that came to share in his joy as well as solicited their sustained prayers to enable him continue to discharge his duties effectively in the vineyard of God.

The event which featured prayers for Bishop Okere and his family, Governor Otti and the state, choral renditions, review of the book, “Living Word”, written by the celebrant by Venerable Dr Kingsley Okoro, attracted the presence of the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, his Environment and Urban Renewal counterpart, Mr Philemon Ogbonna, Mayor of Ukwa East LGA, Dame Ngozi Nwagbara, the clergy, captains of industry among other notable personalities.
