Ajaero Shouldn’t Travel Due to Ongoing Investigation – Amachree
Ex-Assistant Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Dennis Amachree asserts that the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero must remain in Nigeria amid an investigation into alleged terrorism financing and related charges.
Amachree made these remarks on Tuesday during Channels Television’s “Politics Today” program, emphasizing that Ajaero should not leave the country until the investigation concludes.
He clarified that Ajaero’s investigation pertains to personal matters, not his position as president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
The former DSS Assistant Director indicated that Ajaero’s presence on a security watch list was the reason for his detention at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday.
“There is an ongoing investigation; he (Ajaero) cannot leave the country,” Amachree stated. “He should stay in Nigeria while this investigation is ongoing.”
Referring to the accusations of terrorism financing against Ajaero, Amachree noted, “Even if he were to travel, where would he go?
Especially considering the main suspect in the case, Andrew Wynne, is his tenant and currently in London.”
