by The Governor, Dr Alex Otti says his administration is focused and committed to the overall development of the state.
Governor Otti who stated this during an enlarged meeting with Abians in Diaspora, held at the banquet hall, Government House Umuahia, disclosed that his government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring even development in all sectors of the state economy.
The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba disclosed that his administration upon assumption of duty, declared a state of emergency on critical sectors including health, education, security and infrastructure, expressing joy that today, Abia is no longer perceived as a God forsaken state but a reference point in the area of excellence.
The State Chief Executive while announcing the recent ranking of the state as third in the areas of attracting direct foreign investments after the FCT and Lagos State, pointed out that the essence of the meeting is to enable government interface with Abians in Diaspora, cross fertilize ideas and opinions that will help move the state forward.
He further commended them for their ability to respond to the meeting at a short notice, describing it as an indication of their passion and love for the state as well as what God is using him to do across the state.
In their remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Mr Otumchere Otti, Commissioner for Education, Prof Uche Eme Uche, Health, Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo, Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs Ngozi Felix and their Digital Economy and SME counterpart, Mr Mathew Ekwuruibe while presenting their sectorial reports, said the present administration has come to change the negative narratives and assured Abians of more socio economic developments that will have direct impact on the citizens.
In an interview, some of the Abians in Diaspora including, Chief Martins Iroegbu, Mr Murphy Emelike, Chief Lady Tender Ikechukwu, Prince Paschal Atuma among others lauded Governor Otti for his giant strides across the state and pledged their sustained support to his administration.
The meeting which featured question and answer sessions, attracted the presence of members of state Executive council, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Chinedu Ekeke, Aides to the Governor among other top government officials.
