by The good, blessed and industrious people of Asa, in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia state, rejoices haven experienced the transformative and people oriented good governance of Dr Alex Chioma Otti through the Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ASOPADEC) ably led by Ven. Joshua Onyeike, who is meticulously carrying out the instructions of the governor, which is geared towards people oriented developments.
On assumption of office as the General Manager of ASOPADEC, Ven. Joshua Onyeike has within his first 100 days in office, completed the Umuokomiri, Obehie road that was started by the past administration with barely 40% job done.
Ven. Onyeike, understanding the mission and vision of Governor Otti especially in the areas of infrastructural developments, swinged into action which led to the speedy completion of the project that was commissioned by the governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti (Chioma Abia).
The ASOPADEC Boss, full of passion and love for his Ukwa West people has being executing series of projects between Asa in Ukwa West Local Government Area and other parts of the state.
Some of the projects scattered in various communities includes, solar powered water projects at Umunteke-Asa, Umuiku-Asa, Umuebulungwu-Asa, Umuorie-Asa, Owaza-Asa, market project at Umuajuoha, Obuzor-Asa and a solar powered water project currently ongoing at Ugwati-Asa among others across the state.
In the area of education, the commission has assisted over 200 indigent students from Ukwa West and Abia in general in WAEC and JAMB registrations as well as ensure the payment of those under scholarship by the commission.
Today, quality work is currently ongoing at the Asa Multipurpose Hall which hitherto was started and forsaken by NDDC over a decade.
Ven. Onyeike, who has long keyed into the vision of Governor Otti, understands the need and importance of a multi purpose hall for the oil and gas rich people of Asa.
According to him, the need to have a state-of-the-art hall for the gathering of the lovely people of Asa was long overdue, hence his awarding the completion of that edifice to Vikchin Consult Ltd, a reputable indigenous building construction consultant headed by Arc. Don Best.
With the spate of work, currently ongoing at the site, it is believed that in no distance time, it will be completed, commissioned and handed over to the good, peaceful and lovely people of Asa for use.
Asa people therefore appreciates our pragmatic Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti for working the talk and for appointing their sons and a seasoned administrators, to oversee the affairs of ASOPADEC and Ukwa West Local Government Area.
The Mayor/T.C Chairman of Ukwa West LGA, Hon. Newman Azu had being working in synergy with the G.M of ASOPADEC to ensure speedy development in all nooks and crannies of Ukwa West LGA.
Hon. Azu within his few months in office, has embarked on opening of rural roads in the area, a project when completed will bring succor to Asa rural dwellers who are predominantly farmers.
The massive grading of community roads across the LGA is so much appreciated by the good people of Asa while expecting more people oriented projects from the council.
The good people of Asa therefore, commends the executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Alex Chioma Otti (Chioma Abia/Choima Ukwa West) for demonstrating genuine love and commitment toward the people of Asa by appointing seasoned administrators and technocrats, noble and trusted sons of Asa into positions of trust in his administration and for citing the Abia Industrial Innovation Park AIIP in Asa land, a project that will mark an industrial revolution in Asa land, Abia and the nation at large.
We appreciate Ven. Joshua Onyeike, the GM, ASOPADEC and the Mayor of Ukwa West LGA, Hon. Newman Azu and encourage them to continue in this might to see that there is a visible and greater development in the only oil and gas rich area in Abia State.
We also pledge our unalloyed support to the Labour Party led administration in the state under Governor Alex Chioma Otti.
