ABIA: State Environmental Sanitation Court Members Sworn-In

Seventeen new presiding officers and members of the state Environmental Sanitation Courts have been inaugurated and sworn-In by the Abia State Chief Judge, Justice Lilian Abai.

Addressing them shortly after administering the Oath of Allegiance on them at the Abia State High Court Complex, Umuahia, Justice Abai congratulated them on the appointments stressing that they were selected based on their testament, qualification and dedication to duties and urged them not to relent.

Justice Abai charged them to ensure that the Sanitation Laws of the State are enforced to enable Abia remain one of the cleanest State in the Country.

Responding, on behalf of the Presiding Officers for the seventeen LGAs of the State, Mr. O K Onuma promised that they will discharge their duties without fear or favour in accordance with the Constitution of Nigeria and to abide by the Code of Conduct, contained in the fifth (5th) Schedule of the Constitution.

Mr. Onuma added that they will not allow their personal interest to influence their official conduct stressing that they will justify the confidence reposed in them.

In a vote of thanks, on behalf of members of the Environmental Sanitation Court who are 32 in number, Mr. Nwazue Alilionwu thanked the State Government and the State Chief Judge, Justice Lilian Abai for finding them worthy for the assignment which he described as an honour and prayed God for the enablement to discharge their duties creditably.

The Acting Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice Umuahia, Mrs Beauty Alwell and other Principal Officers of the State High Court witnessed the swearing-in ceremony.
