Abia Sports Club: Come Up With New Model Of Leadership – Gov. Ikpeazu Charges 66th President

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has commended the past presidents of Aba Sports Club 1926 for their  doggedness and commitments in championing the cause of the club to an enviable height.

Gov. Ikpeazu who made the commendation at Aba Sports Club during the inaugural ball of Owelle Greg Okafor as the 66th President of the Club, urged him to superintend a unified Aba Sports club devoid of rancour and acrimony.

The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. A.C.B Agbazuere called on the new president to come up with new model of leadership hinged on friendship, fairness and Justice devoid of divisiveness as well as continue to pursue and demonstrate a body language that creates an environment where love and peace supersede any negative energy.

The State Chief Executive while describing the new 66th  President of Aba Sports Club 1926, Owelle Greg Okafor as an assertive young man that has the capacity and capability to meet with the responsibilities of his new  office, also urged members of the club to support the new Excos to enable them excel.

In his opening remarks, the chairman on the occasion, Chief Valentine Ozigbo charged the new president and his team to ensure that discipline and decorum continue to be their watchword both for the members and staff of the club.

In his valedictory speech, the immediate past president of Aba Sports Club 1926, Chief Jerry Kalu while congratulating his successor and his team also disclosed that his achievements were basically as a result of hard work, determination and team spirit.

Earlier in his welcome address, the chairman inaugural ball, Sir Greg Esotu thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and members of the club for their wisdom, encouragement and unsparing support to Aba Sports Club 1926.

Delivery his address, the 66th president of Aba Sports Club 1926, Owelle Greg Okafor while appreciating members of the club for their unalloyed demonstration of love, trust and confidence in his determination to further improve the quality and ambience of the club, also solicited their support to enable him achieve the goals of his manifesto. 

The event which featured presentation of souvenir to Governor Ikpeazu by the representative of the Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu, decoration of the 66th president of Aba Sports Club, goodwill messages attracted the presence of a former Deputy Governor in the state, Chief Acho Nwakanma, Chief Okey Ahaiwe, Dr Cosmos Ndukwe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Development, Mr Chinenye Nwogu among other notable personalities.
