Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has described the alleged spending of Nine Hundred and Twenty-Seven Million Naira on food as the handiwork of enemies who are intimidated by the ongoing reforms in various sectors of the state economy.
Governor Otti who stated this while answering questions from journalists during the 3rd edition of the Governor Alex Otti speaks to Abians, described the alleged amount as false and a matter that does not worth dicipating energy on.
The Governor said his government has been prudent in managing resources available to the state, assuring Abians that they will get value for what ever resources at the state’s disposal.
On the issue of the welfare of the newly retired permanent secretaries and directors from the state civil service, Governor Otti assured that their entitlements will be duly paid and promised to liaise with stakeholders on how to increase the salaries of civil servants in line with the present economic realities.
On Agriculture, the Governor said plans are in top gear to fully recover and put into productive use the Ulonna north and south farm settlement and other farm settlements that are in private hands across the state.
