Abia Lawmaker set to build New Home for Bedridden Constituent, reaffirms commitment to effective representation
The Member representing siala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu (OCHAKE), has promised to erect a new building for his constituent, Mr. Esiwoke Ahiara Umunna, who is bedridden and hails from Abayi Isingwa Autonomous Community, Ward 4, in Isiala Ngwa North LGA.
Ochake dropped the cheering news when he visited Mr Esiwoke at his residence in fulfillment of the promise he made to him.
In the Ochake’s words, “I recently visited one of my constituents, Mr. Esiwoke Ahiara Umunna of Abayi Isingwa Autonomous Community, Ward 4, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, who has been bedridden for over 25 years due to a gunshot injury he sustained during an encounter with armed robbers at his workplace.
“Sadly, he has no wife or children to care for him, and he relies on the kindness of a few good-hearted individuals who assist him with what little they can.
“Yesterday, on my way to Clifford University Ihie, I was deeply moved when I saw him crawling to my house, calling out, “OCHAKE, OCHAKE, come to my rescue. I have no food to eat, and my house has collapsed.
“His situation truly touched me, and I promised to visit him to see how I could help.
“Today, I fulfilled that promise and visited him at his residence. I have committed to building a new house for him, to the glory of God. I pray that God will continue to bless him with good health and long life.”
This laudable gesture is one out of the many the state Lawmaker has done for his constituents.
Hon. Chief Iheonunekwu has once again demonstrated his undying love for his constituents and has reaffirmed his total commitment to the overall wellbeing of Ndị Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency.
