Abia Lawmaker condemns assault on Bolt driver by Hon. Ikwecheghi
I strongly condemn the grievous assault and threats made by Hon. Alex Ikwechghi against Mr. Steven Abusuwatseye, a Bolt driver. Watching the trending video on social media is deeply disappointing, especially from a lawmaker who is expected to uphold the dignity of our democracy. Such behavior is unacceptable.
I feel compelled to speak out, especially after reading a comment online suggesting that this is typical behavior of lawmakers. I want to correct that misconception that not all lawmakers are lawless. I urge the Nigerian government to investigate this matter thoroughly and bring those responsible to justice, so it serves as a deterrent to others. No one should use their position or status to intimidate innocent people. Nobody is above the law..
