ABIA – The Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Commerce and Industry, Chief Nwaka Inem says the administration of Governor Alex Otti is committed to restoring Aba back to a full economic and Production City that it was known for in the past.

Chief Nwaka Inem who stated this while on a familiarization visit to the NCS/EROJIM Automated Shoe, Garment and Leather factory, Aba established by the Federal Ministry of Interior under a PPP arrangement with Erojim Company, stated that the government of Dr Alex Otti is one that supports investments that engages the people productively.

“The government of His Excellency, Governor Alex Otti is a government that encourages the people thereby taking them off the street”

“With the employment capacity of this factory we are sure that a lot of our youths would be off the street”

“I will gladly send message across to His Excellency Dr Alex Otti OFR because what you’re doing is in line with our campaign promise of providing conducive environment for businesses like this to thrive, when investment like this thrives it increases employment rate and IGR”

While restating government’s commitment to resuscitating all moribund industries in the state, Chief Inem noted that the present administration is equally providing business conducive environment for the springing up of new industries through the office of ease of doing business which guarantees one hundred percent return on investment.

“His Excellency Dr Alex Otti is quite committed to restoring what Aba is known for not just as a name but must be a city of high Production and Government will partner with all to make sure their brands are marketed nationally and globally”

“We are going to give every support, every information, every necessary assistance to make sure that this place succeeds because we are not happy with some factories that closed down in the past and we are making sure that all moribund industries come back to life,” Chief Inem assured.

He described the establishment of the Automated Shoe, Garment and Leather factory in the state as an evidence of the robust and friendly policies put in place by the Governor Alex Otti led government, adding that with the employment capacity of the factory, the state is sure of improved IGR for more social services to the people.

Earlier while conducting Chief Nwaka Inem and his team round the factory, the Chief Operation Officer of the Company, Dr Esang Demben commended the level of infrastructural development in Aba under the 16-months administration of Governor Alex Otti, including improved power supply to Aba environs through the historic commissioning of Geometric power station.

He expressed the hope that the factory will soon be connected to the national grid as they now operate 8-hours on Generator, with daily production capacity of 1500 pair of shoes and 5000 pieces of garment.
