ABIA: Government Restates Commitment To Improving The Ease Of Doing Business

The Chief of Staff to Abia State Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba has restated Governor Alex Otti’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business in the state.

Pastor Ajagba who stated this at Government House Umuahia during an enlarged meeting with Transport officials in the state, urged all to support government’s efforts geared towards transforming the state positively.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor while noting that a good transport system enhances trade, commerce, economic development and investment, disclosed that the essence of the meeting is to interface with them and work towards actualizing the vision of Governor Otti for an organized transport system.

He enjoined them to ensure relative peace and unity in their various unions as well as stressed the need for them to discharge their duties in line with the Governor’s vision of creating prosperity for Abians.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Transport, Comrade Sunny Onwunma and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport, Dr Obioma Reuben-Nwogbe disclosed that the essence of collapsing the various motors unions in the state into one union is for easy and effective management and enjoined them to come up with laudable ideas that will help move the transport sector forward.

In their responses, Comrade Dannie Ubani, the state president, Cooperative, Mr Azode Chukwuma, Chairman, Abia State Tricycle Operators Union, Aba Zone, Mr Azubuike Victor and Mr Ugboaja Chiemela commended Governor Otti for his transformational strides in the state especially in the transport sector, and promised to live up to expectations.

The meeting featured interactive sessions while some top government officials were present during the meeting.
