The remains of late Ezinne Alice Oyidiya Eze Aru, mother of the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Arochukwu LGA, Chief Joe Eze Aru have been laid to rest at her husband’s compound in Atani Ihechiowa, in Arochukwu LGA of Abia State.
Speaking at the burial ceremony, conducted by the Catholic church, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, thanked God for the special gift in the person of Ezinne Alice Eze Aru, describing her as a true Christian, peaceful and exemplary mother.
Governor Otti said that the deceased was a pillar of support to her church and that her devotion to God and church was unparalleled to the extent that the Catholic Church honoured her with the Ezinne title.
The Governor urged Chief Joe Ezearu and his siblings not to mourn like unbelievers but to be consoled in the fact that their mother lived worthy life and left enduring legacies.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers and Traditional Ruler of Ataigboukwu kingdom, Ihechiowa, Eze Linus Nto Mbah while consoling Chief Joe Ezearu and the entire bereaved family, urged them to take heart and prayed God to grant the soul of the departed a peaceful repose.
Responding, the chief mourner and Chairman designate for Arochukwu LGA, Chief Joe Eze Aru described their mother as a quintessential woman , full of love, care and peaceful, adding that her devotion to the service of God was exceptional.
Our correspondent reports that Late Ezinne Alice Eze Aru who died at the Age of 78 years, is survived by 9 children, grand children among other relatives.
