The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has commiserated with the family of the late former PDP State Chairman, Sir Johnson Onuigbo who passed on recently after a brief illness.
Speaking during a condolence visit to the bereaved family at their country home, Umuobasi, Ugba Ibeku, Umuahia North L.G.A of the state, Sir Oko Chukwu expressed deep regret over the death of Sir Onuigbo who according to the deputy governor visited his office few days before his death.
The Abia deputy governor who said that the news of Sir Onuigbo’s death came as a surprise to him, described the late PDP Chairman as a dedicated and committed party man, who contributed immensely to the growth of the party in the State as well laid a wonderful Christian foundation in the party.
Reeling out the sterling attributes of the deceased, Sir Oko Chukwu said that the late PDP Chairman was his good friend and urged the children to sustain the legacies of their father.
He urged the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude, pointing out that God knows the best and prayed God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
Responding on behalf of the family, the Clerk/ Permanent Secretary Abia State House of Assembly, Sir Pedro Iroakazi thanked the Deputy Governor, Sir. Ude Oko Chukwu for coming to condole with them in their time of grief and pleaded with the state government to always put the family in prayer.
The Deputy Governor later signed the Condolence Register.
The Immediate Past Chairman, Abia State Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Udochukwu Ogbonna, the wife of the deceased, Lady Uzoamaka Onuigbo, and her children were present at the solemn visit.
