Aba Residents Call For Action Against Iron Scavengers
Some Aba residents have called on relevant authorities to tackle the menace of iron scavengers, who’s activities are increasingly threatening their property.
Speaking to our Correspondent, some of the residents including Mazi Okechukwu Johnson and Chief Ikechi Ndukwe expressed frustration over the reoccurring incident of iron thefts around the commercial nerve centre of the state by scavengers popularly known as “iron condemn“.
According to them, these scavengers are causing significant hardship for shop owners and builders by removing valuable metal materials that are still in use.
They proposed that limiting scavengers’ operational hours could provide some relief.
