The remains of Chief Uzoma Ukaegbu Uwa has been laid to rest at his country home, Ovorji Village Omoba in Isialangwa South Local Government Area.
Speaking during a funeral service organized by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu described Late Chief Uzoma Ukaegbu Uwa as a hardworking man who’s immense contribution towards the development of his council and state at large cannot be overemphasized called on all to reevaluate their lifestyles and live life’s worthy of emulation.
Dr Ikpeazu disclosed that death is a respecter of nobody irrespective of age, class and status urged the bereaved family not to cry as those without hope but take solace in the fact that their father left lasting legacies.
The Governor represented by his chief of staff, Dr A.C.B Agbazuere called on the wife of the deceased, Justice Chidiebere Uwa to be strong and courageous and ensure that their family remain united in love also prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In a tribute, the only daughter of the deceased, Miss Ezinwanyi Uwa described her late father as an accomplished civil engineer, gentleman and astute politician who was greatly involved in the development of Ovuokwu community as well as rendered selfless services and recorded achievements in uplifting the Udoala Ovuokwu, adding that he will be greatly missed by all even at the ripe age of 72.
Preaching on the topic, “It won’t be long”, the President, Eastern Nigeria Union Conference of S.D.A and Chancellor Clifford University, Pastor Dr B.E. Udoh reminded Christians that the world is a temporary place hence the need for all to be mindful of their deeds pointing out that a day of judgment is coming when all mortals will give account of their stewardship while on earth.
Crystal News Correspondent reports that the ceremony which featured prayers for the deceased family attracted the presence of top government functionaries, royal fathers, the Clergy among others.
