Speaking during a condolence visit to the bereaved family at their country home, Umuokpa Amuzu Ameke Ovim in Isuikwuato Local Government Area, Dr Ikpeazu disclosed that death is a necessary end for all mortals hence the need for all to be at peace with all men.
The Governor represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. A.C.B Agbazuere while describing the deceased, Late Mr Johnson Nwabuikwu Okezie as a hardworking man whose tremendous contributions while in service cannot be overemphasized prayed God to give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The Governor who further expressed joy that two abians are occupying the office of the National Vice President and General Secretary of NLC at the national level also appreciated the NLC for the quantum of love and solidarity they have shown to the family of their colleague pledged the state governments support to the bereaved family.
Responding, the wife of the deceased and Chairperson, National Women Commission and National Vice President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Mrs Mercy Okezie while describing her late husband as a devoted christian, loving and easy going man who dedicated his life while alive to the service of God and humanity appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the NLC for their support as well as coming to identify with her family during their moment of grief.
Correspondent Ugochukwu Ahuchogu reports that State NLC Chairman, Comrade Uchenna Obigwe, DG Abia State Mass Mobilization Agency, Chief Paddy Anyatonwu, National and State members of Labour Unions across the country among others were present during the visit.
