Flying Officer David Sangokoya of the Nigerian Air Force has been presented with the prestigious 2023 International Sword of Honour at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell (RAFCC) in the UK.

The Nigerian Air Force announced the accolade in a Facebook post on Friday, headlined “NAF Officer Receives 2023 International Sword of Honour at RAF College Cranwell UK.”

Sangokoya, who completed the Modularised Initial Officers’ Training (MIOT) Course 22 from March to September 2023, was named the Best International Cadet of the Year.

This annual award recognizes the top international cadet from RAFCC’s multiple graduating classes each year.

The Sword of Honour was conferred upon Sangokoya by Prince William, representing King Charles III, during the Royal Graduation ceremony on September 12, 2024.

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, lauded Sangokoya’s dedication and hard work.

“This prestigious award highlights the officer’s focus and commitment throughout his training. The NAF takes pride in this achievement, which reflects honor on both the Air Force and Nigeria.” said the Chief of Air Staff.

Air Marshal Abubakar also commended Sangokoya’s family for their steadfast support and encouragement.
