NiMet Predicts 3-Day Thunderstorms And Rain Starting Monday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted widespread thunderstorms and rainfall across the country from Monday to Wednesday.

The report, issued on Sunday in Abuja, outlines weather conditions for various regions.

According to NiMet, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba states early Monday.

Areas like Niger, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will experience scattered rains during the morning.

In the afternoon and evening, localized rains are expected over parts of the FCT, Plateau, Niger, and Nasarawa states. The southern states, including Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Imo, Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers, will see intermittent rains.

NiMet forecasts isolated thunderstorms in Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba during the morning, extending to Yobe, Zamfara, and Jigawa later in the day.

Scattered rains are also expected over Benue, Kogi, FCT, and Nasarawa states in the morning, with continued showers later in Kwara, Plateau, and other southern states.

Thunderstorms will cover northern areas such as Kebbi, Bauchi, Sokoto, and Katsina in the morning, with continued storms in Taraba, Kano, and Zamfara by the afternoon. Southern regions will experience moderate rains in states including Abia, Ebonyi, Ondo, and Rivers later in the day.

NiMet advises residents to stay informed and prepared for localized thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
