by Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti today joined the family of the Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Dr Geoffrey and Mrs Gospel Ibeabuchi in the baptism, dedication and thanksgiving of their first son, Master Zikachimra Diadem Ozihe Geo-Ibeabuchi after 23 years of marriage.
Speaking at the St. Stephens Cathedral Umuahia, Governor Otti stressed the need for all to be patient and trust in God for answers to their prayers and commended Bishop Ibeabuchi and wife for upholding their faith and trust in God despite the challenges and long period of waiting.
The Governor represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Religious Affairs, Apostle Kenneth Wiper while describing children as precious gifts from God, urged the celebrants to ensure they bring up their son in the way of the Lord.
In a sermon, the Bishop of Isiala Ngwa Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Temple Nwosu challenged all to have faith in God as well as seek God’s direction in all their undertakings in other to experience fulfillment in every area of their lives.
In their testimony, the Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, The Rt Rev. Dr Geoffrey Ibeabuchi and his wife, Mrs Gospel Geo-Ibeabuchi while recounting the journey so far, appreciated God for his steadfastness, goodness and mercies upon their family and for using the gift of a baby boy to wipe away their sorrows.
They appreciated their families, church, friends and wishers for their sustained prayers and support during their period of trials and prayed God to bless all that came to share in their joy.
The event which featured prayers for the celebrants family, Governor Alex Otti and the state, goodwill messages, choral renditions, also attracted the presence of Senator Chris Adighije, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Chief Obi Aguocha, Mayor of Ukwa East LGA, Dame Ngozi Nwagbara, the permanent secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs Ogechi Oguama, top government functionaries, the clergy, traditional rulers among other notable personalities.
