CSDA PROJECT: Abia Government Expands Its Rebuilding Agenda To Communities

Abia state government says, its Abia rebuilding agenda has been expanded to enable communities in the state benefit from the fifteen million naira Abia Community Social Development Agency for every community in the state.

The State Commissioner for information and culture, Prince Okey Kanu, who was briefing journalists on the outcome of this week’s executive council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti, said that interested communities are expected to select a project of their choice.

On road infrastructure, Prince Kanu noted that a total of six roads have been commissioned in Aba by Governor Alex Otti, assuring that more will soon be commissioned as other roads are under construction in the area.

He noted that serious work is ongoing on the Aba – Port-harcourt axis of the Enugu-PortHarcourt express way, adding that one lane of the road will be ready for use by the end of this month.

Contributing, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Policies and intervention, the Rev Fr. Christian Anokwuru said that interested communities in the Abia -CSDA project would be expected to apply with community letter head papers for any project of their choice not exceeding fifteen million naira and are expected to pay five percent counterpart of the total amount.
